Want to start #DoingTheMostGood?

Will you partner with us to provide warm meals, a safe place to live, rent assistance, summer camp and much more to neighbors in need?

Countless opportunities exist for volunteers within all programs The Salvation Army provides. Children, the elderly, the homeless, those in recovery, and those in transition - all need a helping hand and support from an open heart

The Vail Valley Salvation Army has numerous opportunities during the 2016 holiday season for involvement within our community. Please contact (970) 748-0704 for additional information.

Office help: We would love to have folks who would come to the offices and help answer and return phone calls during November and December. If they can type, we?d love help with data entry as well. We need bi-lingual helpers to make phone calls to clients, as well.

Unloading Food: We need help the first Monday of every month unloading food from the Food Bank of the Rockies truck to our pantry. It only takes a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Fill the Vans: On November 18, 2017, Colorado Mountain Express and Public Safety is doing their annual Fill the Vans food drive.  We need helpers in the afternoon to assist in unloading the food from the vans.

Ring the Bell:  From the day after Thanksgiving, until Christmas Eve. We need bell-ringers. Starting at 10 a.m. in two-hour shifts. Last shift from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Locations: City Market in Vail, Avon & Eagle, Safeway in Vail, Village Market in Edwards, Wal-Mart, and Ridley?s Market in Gypsum. Click in the link above to sign up!

Food Baskets:  We will assemble and deliver Thanksgiving baskets on the Saturday before Thanksgiving at Avon Elementary in Avon, and at the United Methodist Church in Eagle. No need to sign up, just show up on or before 9:00 a.m.

THIS YEAR WE WILL NOT ASSEMBLE AND DISTRIBUTE CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS. Applicants will receive another form of donation.

There are many other things that come up all the time, and it is good to have people who are willing to be ?on-call?.

Vail Valley Salvation Army could not do what we do without the help of committed volunteers and such a giving and caring community.

Many thanks for all you do!
